Alessandro Riconda (aka Ale Riconda)

Director specialising in working with children, based in London (UK), and fluent in English, Italian and Spanish.

Keen on telling stories that empower young people to be themselves. Always in love with an underdog, but also fascinated by soft sci-fi, magical realism, and anything implicating strong moral/ethical choices.

His narrative work was broadcast by HBO, BBC, FOX, Comedy Central and MTV.

He received accolades at Oscar, BAFTA, and BIFA qualifying festivals such as TIFF, Austin Film Festival, Aesthetica Short Film Festival, Chicago Children’s Intl Film Festival, HollyShorts, Indy Shorts, St Louis Intl Film Festival, Warsaw Film Festival, Uppsala Film Festival, Guanajuato Film Festival, ALCINE, and many others.

Currently developing long-form coming-of-age projects with UK-based producer Paolo Maria Pedullà (Mad Bills to Pay, The Hand of God, The New Pope, We Are Who We Are) and directing commercials.

Alessandro is a BAFTA Connect & Directors UK member, a Directing Commercials graduate from the National Film and Television School, and he is currently featured on the Shiny Creator List.
